Although it was in the middle of a line change and determined legal, John Scott has been suspended for two games after jumping on the ice and immediately starting a fight with Ducks forward Tim Jackman. Scott had an over-the-phone disciplinary hearing earlier today.
And here's the official NHL explanation.
This definitely won't hurt the Sharks, probably helping by icing someone who can play more minutes. Nevertheless, as much as I hated John Scott coming into the season, he's been pretty fun to watch. From his snipe goal to fights and standing up for teammates, Scott has not been as much as a detriment as I previously thought. In a perfect world with Kennedy, Goodrow, and Torres in the lineup though, Scott doesn't belong.
