As expected, Kennedy was dealt at the trade deadline.
The Sharks traded forward Tyler Kennedy to the New York Islanders for a conditional 3rd round pick in 2016.
Don't get too excited. Unless the Islanders win the cup this year and Kennedy plays in 50%+ games in the Finals, the pick becomes a 7th. This was probably Doug Wilson's worst trade of the day. You can't really blame him though, there was probably not much of a market for an inconsistent pending UFA bottom-6 winger. He never really found his place on this team despite flashes of puck possession brilliance earlier this season. The 2nd traded to get him at the 2013 draft was a mistake in hindsight. Kennedy amassed 26 points in 92 games with the Sharks.
